In January 2021, Millionaire returned to Channel 9 in Australia, under the name Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Special Events. Eddie McGuire returned as host in this limited run featuring a mix of celebs and frontline workers.

The reboot adapted Stellify's Ask The Host lifeline in lieu of Ask The Audience as well as the new set design.

The Ask The Host lifeline has also been incorporated into Channel 9's spinoff show Hot Seat, from 2020 onwards.
